Mountain Warfare Training and the Alpine Club of Canada, 1942-1944"
I will examine how mountaineering discourses reproduced sites of sport in national parks as sites of war in the 1940s -- cultural landscapes that were later erased in peacetime and rewritten as holiday destinations occupied by Canada's postwar tourism economy.
